Birthday Week!

A few firsts this year.....
It has been a very exciting birthday week!
This year was my 31st birthday!  Yup, the entry into my third decade of gracing this earth with my presence.  I hate getting old.

I started out the week by doing my first "fun" run ever on Saturday! My MIL and Sister-in-law did the Black Light Glow Run with me.
I will be honest...I wasn't looking forward to doing the 5k in the dark.  Needless to say it was a great first race experience and was so much fun.

Next on the agenda was Father's Day Sunday. Since I couldn't make it to Idaho to see my Dad, I called him up that evening.  The rest of the day I spent at church and with my husband and watching game three of the NBA Finals!  It was our first Father's Day together after being married.

My next stop during the week was to stop and visit my "super" brother Layton. He was lucky enough to be blessed with my presence two times this week. The first night, I surprised him after work just to say "hello". He surprised me with a grocery list of things like popcorn and ice cream.  Two days later when I returned with the grocery items, I was able to learn more about Layton's Ventilator and Diaphramic Pace-Maker. I was able to receive some brief respiratory training from one of his nurses.  This was a beginning of a training that I will receive from the nurses at Layton's hospital to be able for Layton and I to go on outings.

On Thursday (my birthday), Ajay surprised me by taking me to get an eye exam with new contacts included.  He then took me to pick up my birthday cake and also to lunch.  Afterward, I rushed to the bees baseball park for work.  Lucky for me, Salt Lake pulled out a win that night against El Paso.  After work, we went to the Olive Garden for dinner with 3 of our favorite people.  It was such a delight to spend the evening with Eric and Shelby Schenk and also Lace Perry.  I think our waitress might have had just as much fun as we did.

Birthday Saturday was spent in Cache Valley visiting family and long-time friends of Ajay. We returned from Logan and Ajay headed off to work once again at the baseball park.  The Bees were able to pull off another win against Alberquerque.

It was a wonderful birthday week and I'm so grateful to have spent it with the best husband in the universe...we have been married a whopping 301 days.  While we have only been married a short time, we love making each day and every moment count.  Thank you to all those who took the time to wish me a happy birthday. Love you all!

A Hard Working BEE

Working For the Bees

I recently changed jobs and because of the help of my husband...
I now work for Larry H Miller Baseball aka...
Salt Lake Bees.  I started my third week this week and even though it's only part-time, I absolutely love it.  Yesterday was opening day and The Bees won with a 5-2 final score last night.

Baseball Season is officially upon us which means that Ajay is back to producing radio broadcasts for the team with Steve Klauke,
What a privilege it is to be working for such a great company.
We love Larry H Miller and of course we love the stunning and talented Gail Miller.
Who wouldn't want to work for such a great asset to Utah!

Becoming the Woman of My Dreams

Most of my friends my age are celebrating a decade of marriage by now. Most of my friends have at least three kids and most likely have a fourth child starting first grade. Several of my friends have the opportunity to be stay at home moms.
I often look at the place my journey has taken me and I feel so blessed to be who I am and where I am. I went to college and ended up on a mission. I came home and spent months overcoming illness. I put my last year of college on hold to pursue a career as a pharmacy tech. And finally at the the bright age of 30 I found the love of my life on social media. We got married and I am loving being the wife of a sports guy.
Yes, I'm still a newlywed and no I don't have four kids or life as a stay at home mom. However, I have the kind of life I've only dreamt of. I feel like a princess with much more than a happily ever after. My fairy tale has come to life and because of My Savior I'm truly becoming the woman of my dreams.

Trevor Reilly and The Jets

With my husband's job comes a few perks....I came home to this posted on my fridge during Valentine's week.  The autograph belongs to that of Trevor Reilly #57. None other then the lds linebacker for The New York Jets Football team.  Ajay was doing a show with him and was able to have a short visit with him.  This short visit included Ajay telling Trevor of my long-time love for the Jets.  It's so nice to know that even Reilly, a Jets guy supports my choice in men.  Thanks for the autograph and thanks for playing for my team. Way to go Jets!

To Eternity and beyond :)

I got married!!! Six months ago I married my very best friend and favorite sports guy in the whole entire world :) I became Mrs. Ajay Salvesen on August 28th 2015 in the Logan Utah Temple. We love life and being married to each other even
more. We often tell people that we didn't expect married life to be so much fun. Despite extreme opposition, Ajay is the best decision I've ever made for myself. Wahoo!
