Too Eternity and Beyond: Two Years and Counting
August has always been a good month for me mostly because the temperature outside is perfect. My Ajay's birthday is also in August. Many people have different b-day traditions. Some families celebrate the person's day for a whole week and even sometime's a person gets an entire birthday month. Not only is Ajay's birthday on the 8th but our anniversary is on August 28th. I don't typically give my hubby his own special month but it's not because I don't want too. However, August is my opportunity to tell the whole world how wonderful my husband is.
He's a sports journalist which means that not only is his life sports 24/7 but mine gets to be too. Thank goodness I grew up with brothers who share the same sports passion. My first date with Ajay was at Buffalo Wild Wings in Idaho and we've had many date nights there since that summer day. He knew I was a football watching kind of girl when I told him my Superbowl Stipulations. Early on, I told him that I enjoyed watching the NFL and I didn't need to be the one in the kitchen making the snacks during the big game...But that I needed to be enjoying the deliciousness on the couch while watching the game too. In the first few month's of our marriage that fantasy became a reality even ending up with a broken candy dish.
As I came to know Ajay, I realized quickly that he has a passion for life too. He's outgoing and encourages his friends to be their best. Ajay brings out the best in others. He treats others the way he wishes to be treated. He lives for every moment and accepts challenges fearlessly. He offers assistance to those he cares about even when he feels he might not have the time.
This Summer he accepted a coaching position. I soon realized that I am now "Mrs. Coach" That was fun but definitely a new one for me. Ajay loves baseball and is loving sharing his passion with the guys of Green Canyon High in Cache Valley. He's connected with the students and has been humbled by their acceptance of him.
Ajay has taught me many things in the short 2 years of our marriage. He's taught me the value of love, patience and reminded the importance of dedication and hard work. He's been with me every step of the way. He never walks ahead of me but always side by side. He loves The Savior and His Father in Heaven and turns to them often. He hates being away from me, especially when it's because of working. He always tries his best and accepts nothing less even if it means defeat.
I'm forever grateful he's allowed me into his life. He is my forever and the best decision I've ever made. Today, I'm grateful for the fantastic ray of sunshine he is for me. Happy #730 Day Anniversary Ajay :)
